The President and Captains’ Day was held at Leinster on Monday 6 June 2016. There were about thirty members present and the afternoon with bright warm sunshine was ideal for bowling. On completion of the bowling competition, the members retired to the Bar for much needed liquid refreshments. A substantial meal was provided in the Function Room. Following the meal the President Eugene Fannon and Captains Pat MacDonagh & Lorcan Finn carried out the symbolic cutting of the cake and dispensed prizes for the bowling competition to the following:
1st. prize; John McArdle, Rita Doran & Anto Grey.
2nd. prize; Paul Smyth, Seamus Cosgrove, Peter McArdle & Pat Kenny.
3rd. prize; Anne Fitzgerald, Paul Farrell & Claire Johns.
A special prize for the lady with the most creative hat went to Margaret Kelly.
One of the spectators who enjoyed the afternoon watching the game and meeting old friends was Honorary Life Member Michael Holland. Michael is a long time member of the Leinster Bowling Club and is recovering from recent surgery. We wish him a full and speedy recovery.
