The I.B.A. President Robert Madden visited Leinster on Saturday evening 11 July as part of his tour of the B.L.I. Clubs who are affiliated to the I.B.A. Robert was accompanied by B.L.I. Hon. Secretary Mike Brophy. They were welcomed on arrival by Leinster B.C. President, Eugene Fannon. Hon. Secretary, Marie Fitzpatrick and Leinster B.C. Lady Captain, Anne O’Herlihy. To mark the occasion, Eugene presented Robert with a cut glass bowl. Committee member, Vivien Lee was at hand to help with the teas.
Robert is no stranger to Leinster, having featured in our News/Events item, 3 July 2015. He also visited Leinster with the N.I.P.B.A. Veterans Team in June 2014. Roberts first call on Saturday afternoon was to Meath Bowling Club in Trim where he was presented with a brass plaque to mark the occasion. Robert waited to see the start of the Mens Senior match between Meath and Leinster before departing to visit Westmanstown and Kenilworth Bowling Clubs in route to Leinster.
