Just a short report of the wonderful day we had in Bangkok, playing on the number one International Bowling green in Asia. We were very warmly welcomed by Professor Surasaek who introduced us to some of the Thai international Bowling Team and the men’s Champion of Champions of Canada who played magnificent bowls against us. After the match they provided lunch for us and presented Jacqui Byrne President of the IWBA with a beautiful plaque. It was a wonderful start to our time in Thailand.
11 Leinster Bowlers played and 4 visitors from three other Dublin Clubs, one lady from CYM, Jacqui Byrne, one lady from Skerries, Sheila Kelly and two men from Blackrock Bowling Club Ken Barker and Lar Kelly and one guest from Thailand. We played 5 rinks of three bowl trips. Photos include the Olympic size pool in the Club.
