International Women’s Day is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating gender parity.
To celebrate International Women’s Day 2023, the ladies at Leinster Bowling Club braved the elements on Wednesday 8 March and played a game of bowls in support of women in sport and women’s rights globally.
It is significant that this same week the Mens’ and Women’s Bowling Organisations (BLI & LBLI) have agreed to merge and form a single organisation to be names Irish Lawn Bowls Association (ILBA). The inaugural meeting of the new association will take place on Saturday 25th March 2023 in Crumlin B.C. at 4.00p.m. In this new Association, men and women will have equal rights.
