Leinster/Crumlin Open Tournament - Finals - 2025.

The Leinster/Crumlin Open Tournament was hosted this year by Leinster Bowling Club. The event which took place over 7 days concluded with the finals played on Sunday 10 August at Leinster. Much credit for the success of the event is due to the Tournament Directors, Mary Kenny & Noeleen Kelly and the tournament committees at both clubs who worked tirelessly to ensure its success. Bowling throughout the week and particularly in the semi-finals & finals was of a very high standard and a joy to watch. Leinster President Annette Finn & Tournament Director Mary Kenny welcomed the players and wished them well in the finals. There was a good attendance at this event and the fine warm day made it more enjoyable.

It was a great day for Crumlin Bowling Club with their players winning all five competitions. The talking point of the afternoon was the Mens Singles Competition between Derek Brown of CYM and Conor Turner of Crumlin. Derek played with pin point accuracy and was 11/18 points up with the game within his grasp when everything went wrong for him. Conor, who had played very well throughout went on to win the match 22/18. Congratulations to Conor and commissariations to Derek.

The Prize Giving event was held in the Functions Room of the Clubhouse. The Presidents of both clubs, Robert Tonor, Crumlin & Annette Finn, Leinster were on hand to congratulate the winners and runners-up. Prizes were dispensed by Mary Kenny assisted by committee member Anne Fitzgerald. Speeches were made by President Annette and by Tournament Directors Mary Kenny & Noeleen Kelly. They thanked all players who participated in the competitions, the organising committees in both clubs, the sponsors, markers and helpers and the ladies who provided the light refreshments. They also thanked Crumlin, Leinster, CYM and Kenilworth Bowling Clubs who made their bowling greens available for the competitions. Bouquets of flowers were presented to the two Tournament Directors, Mary Kenny & Noeleen Kelly.
