On Friday 19 June, 18 members from Leinster travelled North to Belmont Bowling Club for the second annual meeting with the NIPBA’s Veterans selection. On arrival, we were given a lovely buffet lunch, we then proceeded to play 18 ends of bowls in ideal weather. At the end of a most enjoyable tight match, NIPBA Veterans were the victors by 5 shots. We then proceeded to the bar and shortly afterwards to an excellent dinner. The atmosphere throughout the day was welcoming and friendly/competitive. We got a warm welcome from Belmont and the Officials of the NIPBA. A big thank you to Richard Conkey, Secretary NIPBA who organised the event this year. Also present were Jim McIlroy, President of the NIPBA Veterans Association and Robert Madden, IBA President. Members are already looking forward to 17 June 2016, when it is planned to have the third annual meeting between the two teams in Leinster.
