Aoibheann’s Pink Tie is a charity giving practical support to the families of children in Ireland affected by cancer. Brendan Murphy, a Winter Member in Leinster is taking part in a sponsored walk to raise funds for this charity. Leinster Bowling Club held a Bowls Competition on Wednesday 30 March 2016 to assist Brendan in his fund raising effort. The results of the Bowls Competition are as follows:
1st. Place, Anne Butler, Tony Fitzpatrick, David Bracken & Dermot Whelan.
2nd. Place, Eugene Fannon, Anne Murphy, Gerry Rutledge & Andre Marchand.
3rd. Place, John McArdle, Margaret Meehan, Sheila Byrne, & Lorcan Finn.
Thank you to all who supported this event, 48 players took part. Many people not playing donated to the charity. The raffle was extremely successful, thank you to all who donated prizes. Special thanks to Marie Fitzpatrick and Ray Dollard for preparing the tea. Thank you to Alice McMullen for all the work carried out prior to the start of the game. A huge thank you to Arthur McMullen for all the planning and organizing of the event.
On behalf of Brendan, the organising committee thanks all of you for your support of this fund raising event which resulted in an amount of €800 being handed to Brendan. We all wish Brendan a very successful walk on April 9.
